Rockport Music Announces Impressive Season

by

Rockport Music has just announced the 33rd Annual Rockport Chamber Music Festival—the fourth in the gorgeous Shalin Liu Center—and what a season it is, even by Boston-area standards. Over 23 promising concerts are packed between June 6th and July 13th.

On the festival calendar are such artists as the Emerson, Calder, Parker, Shanghai, and Jupiter string quartets; pianists Jeremy Denk, David Deveau, and Charlie Albright; such soloists as Richard Stoltzman, David Finckel, and Stefan Jackiw; and the men’s a cappella choir Chanticleer. BMInt intends to attend all of them

The Festival adds this year their Rising Star series, which showcases three young artists or groups that are recent competition winners and in the early stages of their careers.

The remaining spring season and complete Rockport Chamber Music Festival are listed here.

Clearly, artistic director David Deveau has put together an eye-popping roster. If the past is any guide, many if not most of the events will sell out. We recommend that interested readers consider assembling subscriptions to ensure that they get seats. The bonus for six concerts or more is a 10% discount, and 15% for 10 or more.

Ticket prices range from $19 to $85. There are additional benefits for subscribers: not only do they receive the discount, but once they purchase the subscription, they receive exchange privileges, meaning if they decide later that they would like to add tickets or concerts to their subscription, there’s no additional order fee.

Subscriptions go on sale March 27th. Individual tickets will be available on April 16th.

Also, there is one preset subscription, the Rising Star series: Neave Trio, Daria Rabotkina, and the Donald Sinta saxophone quartet, with prices of $91.80, $75.60, $51.30.

Please refer to the website here, and the box office is 978.546.7391.
